Colossal rock walls rise up to 300 metres and narrow to barely twenty metres apart, split by a palm-lined road. Climbers come for world-renowned routes, while travellers come for its cool shade during the burning southern summer. Continue afterwards towards the vast palm groves and the weekly market of Tinghir.

The gorge lies fifteen minutes by car from Tinghir town and pairs perfectly with the Dades Valley and Tizi n’Tichka pass on a southern loop itinerary.
